We calculate your reliable income, subtract all your fixed recurring bills and savings goals, and then subtract your current month's spending. The remaining number is what is truly free to spend.
Is it safe to connect my bank account?
Yes. We use Plaid to securely connect to financial institutions. We have read-only access, meaning we can see transactions to categorize them, but we cannot move money. We use bank-level 256-bit encryption.
Can I use How's My Money with a partner?
Absolutely. Our Household plan allows you to invite a partner. You can both log in with separate credentials but view a unified dashboard of your shared finances.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
We believe your data belongs to you. If you cancel, you can export your transaction history as a CSV. We will keep your account in a dormant state for 30 days in case you change your mind, after which it is deleted.
